The Free WiFi network is rapidly expanding in the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) subway, reaching a coverage of over 40 stations in October. The connection is possible thanks to TCONNECT, a free-to-use advertiser-sponsored WiFi network. This means that, while TCONNECT is free to all users, but the WiFi service will be sponsored with short ads, actually generating an additional income for the TTC.
As stated on the TTC official website, the service is well supported – for any issues concerning the WiFI network you can send an email at [email protected] or call their Help Desk at 416-777-9434 (WiFi). This is definitely a step forward to improve the confort of passagers: however there still are some limitations: connecting a device (smartphone, laptop, tablet etc) is possible only in the stations, but not between them, nor in the tunnels – so having a stable, reliable connection in every subway car would be a much more desirable solution, that is still not in sight at this moment.
Take a look below for the complete list of stations that support the TCONNECT WiFi.
